What is Heavyweight Fishing?

Heavyweight Fishing is a Roblox fishing game by Unknown Journey, published on August 4, 2025 and inspired by the Chinese fishing game Câu cá vạn cân. It has passed 35.3 million visits and 84,100 favourites, and runs around 10,000 concurrent players in ten-player servers.

You catch fish, sell them, and buy better rods — but the rods carry two competing stats, Power and Luck, and the biggest fish are boss fights you win with equipped skills rather than patience. That turns a fishing game into a build game: 29 rods, 37 skills across seven skill lines, 13 traits rolled at published odds, 7 orbs that each boost exactly one line, and 16 secret fish locked behind weather on 10 islands.

This site exists because those numbers are scattered across a Trello board, a Vietnamese-language Discord and a handful of week-old videos. Every table here is transcribed from those sources with the source named — and where two of them disagree, both figures are printed rather than one being quietly chosen.

Get Started in 5 Steps

  1. Catch and sell. The Fish buyer stands on every island. Favourited fish are never sold, so favourite nothing you plan to cash in.
  2. Buy bait before your third rod. Basic Bait is 100 Cash for +3% Luck; Ancestral Bait is +50% for 100k — more Luck than any rod in the game.
  3. Skip the two Luck traps. The Alloy Rod and the Grandmaster Steel Rod are Power upgrades that gut your Luck. The rod table shows exactly where.
  4. Pick a skill line, then match the orb. Each orb boosts one line only — a Maoshan Orb does nothing for a Cloud Ascension build.
  5. Do the daily Ticket quests.Banner pity only guarantees a Secret at 1,000 summons, so the dailies are the plan, not a bonus.

FAQ

Is there a Heavyweight Fishing Trello board?

Yes. The board at trello.com/b/1L62rWsO is the community reference the developers point players to, and it carries the update logs. Every rod, skill, trait, orb, island and secret-fish number on this site is transcribed from it and then checked against recent gameplay videos — where the two disagree, both numbers are shown.

Where is the Heavyweight Fishing Discord?

There are two. The server linked from the Roblox experience page is the main one and it is Vietnamese-language. A separate English-language server exists as well. New codes are announced in the code channels of the main server first.

What is the best rod in Heavyweight Fishing?

By raw Power it is the Maoshan Rod at 105 Power and 25 Luck, sold by the roaming Maoshan Merchant for 300M Cash. By Power-plus-Luck it is the crafted Heaven Piercer Rod at 100 Power and 36 Luck. Guide videos that only rank buyable and craftable rods usually name Heaven Piercer, because the Maoshan Merchant is not reliably available.
